The International Foundation Programme is a pre-University qualification that is equivalent to ‘A’ Levels. It is designed to prepare students for further study in the University of Plymouth 1st Year Degree Programme and the University of Plymouth undergraduate degree Programmes.

University Foundation

 

Duration

The duration of the International Foundation Programme depends on your academic programme and which degree you are applying for at the University of Plymouth. The programme varies between one (12 weeks) and two (24 weeks) semesters of study.

Entry Dates

The programme has three (3) intakes per year in October, February and June.

Assessment

Assessment for most modules is continuous, consisting of tests, assignments and case study analysis. Most modules have a final two-hour examination.

Programme Structure

The programme is comprised of four modules each semester, eight modules in total. To be awarded the International Foundation Programme Certificate students must complete and pass all modules. Each module is tailored towards the undergraduate degree the student wishes to pursue at the University of Plymouth. Students only study modules that are relevant to their degree.

English Language Requirement

Students who do not meet the English language requirement are able to undertake the required amount of English language training to prepare them for successful entry into the International Foundation Programme.
